The brief to renowned architect Virginia Kerridge was to graft a striking contemporary addition onto an original 1930’s weatherboard cottage. The off-grid property in the middle of the bush, features 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a separate library and a home office on the ground floor. Upstairs in the galvanised roof tower is a living room accessed via a floating feature steel staircase. Sitting high above the open plan spaces, it was designed to make the most of the escarpment and rainforest views and feature recycled timbers throughout.
