Pencilwood Farm

This classic bush log cabin was reimagined as a rainforest retreat for artists and musicians by architect Wes Hindmarch of Local Architect. With the addition of the viewing tower for the master bedroom, new bathrooms and two additional bedrooms, this elegant and wistful addition has captured the views and reimagined the shack for modern living. The dark clad exterior needed to meet stringent bushfire ratings, and modest budgets were balanced against high impact architectural interventions like the striking staircase with angular details and hardwood finishes. The owners have created a stunning refuge in the bush- the perfect canvas for their creativity.
