Lanes End

This tree-changers dream project was the restoration of  a 1940’s weatherboard homestead into a contemporary open plan entertainer with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and wrap around verandahs suited to family living. The design by Edward Davis of Davis Architects is a great example of how to upcycle old housing stock with extensive use of recycled materials, converting dark rooms with pink walls and 70‘s tiles, into an updated home perfectly suited to modern living.

This original weatherboard farmhouse is a perfect example of the kind of work J2 loves. The hardwood frame was in incredible condition and the exterior and 100 year old gardens were picture perfect. The interiors however hadn’t been touched for 60 years and were made up of layers of pink wallpaper and carpet. We loved hunting down the perfect heritage features to connect the old and the new sections of the house.
